Watch: Kit Harington Got Into A Fight At McDonald's The Night Before His Game Of Thrones Audition

The Game of Thrones actor reveals how he ended up with a black eye for his Jon Snow audition

The night before a job interview, you're more likely to be planning your outfit or researching your the position than getting into a fist fight.

Unless you're Kit Harington, that is.

In a video with W Magazine, the Game of Thrones heart-throb explains how he ended up with a black eye for his audition as Jon Snow after he and his date stopped by a McDonald's the night before.

Ever the gentleman, he asked a couple at a table whether he and his date could sit down given the shortage of seats but one of the men at the table started insulting his date calling her 'an ugly pig'.

'I got up and said: 'No, no, no, you can't, you can't call her that, get up,' explains Harington.

'So I called him up for a fight, which I'd never done before. And of course he'd been sat down the whole time, and he got up and he just ... kept going.

'And I just realized at that point that I had to throw the first punch otherwise I'd look like a complete wimp.'

But the 29-year-old didn't seem to hold too much of a grudge for the man that punched him.

'I think that man who punched me in the face may have helped me get the job, so if you're watching, thank you.'

The actor, who is currently dating his Game of Thrones co-star Rose Leslie, also revealed how he fell asleep on a stone slab while filming *SPOILER ALERT*  Jon Snow's death scene in season five.

'There's nothing scarier than waking up in the middle of Game of Thrones world, naked, with everyone standing over you and thinking, 'Oh my God, I've died and I've actually ended up in Westeros'.'

We can only imagine.
