How do you know when you've reached peak millennial?

Is it when you realise you're more concerned with catching Squirtle on Pokémon Go than a Tinder date?

When you start referring to your friends as followers?

Or how about when you find out you're to blame for the downfall for the handshake?

We can tell you. It's when you learn there's an emoji restaurant.

This summer, The Little Yellow Door restaurant in Notting Hill, London is jumping on the emoticon bandwagon by launching an emoji menu you can order via WhatsApp, naturally.

Dishes on the emoji menu vary from a chicken sandwich with bacon, avocado and a cocktail you can order by clicking a strawberry, a martini and a cross-eyed face (we imagine this is what you'll look like after ordering a glass or two).

Talking of the quirky pictogram menu – which will be available on Wednesday and Thursday evenings – owner Kamran Dehdashti told Munchies: 'We thought this could be a cool way to engage with our audience.'

'Get them to WhatsApp what they want to eat, and we bring it to them,' he added.

While the concept is slightly soul destroying ('what, so we're not capable of voicing out an order out loud now?'), we're quite intrigued to test the new style of ordering.

Although with our luck (and tendency to rely on autocorrect in a rush), who knows what would end up on our plate?
