Finally. The wait is over.

Yesterday, Warner Bros released the first teaser for Christopher Nolan's World War II film Dunkirk, but one thing was missing – Harry Styles.

After pictures surfaced of the One Direction star filming scenes for the highly-anticipated war film earlier this year, fans have been waiting eagerly by their screens (quite literally) to see Harry make his film debut.

However, during the 56-second-long preview – which captures the nightmarish nature of the French coastline in 1940 – at no point do the film's main actors Harry Styles, Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance or Cillian Murphy show up.

Naturally, Hazza's fans aren't pleased:

Directed by Christopher Nolan – famed for works included The Dark Knight triology, Inception and Interstellar – Dunkirk centres on World War II's largest rescue mission in Dunkirk when 338,000 allied troops were rescued after being surrounded by German troops.

During the teaser, foreboding music builds as the camera pans across a bleak shoreline. The music crescendos, ending in a boat scene where the allied troops look up in horror of the sound of incoming German planes flying above them.

Interspersed in the footage reads the line: 'At the point of crisis. At the point of annihilation. Survival is victory.'

Now, if 1D's fans' reactions are anything to go by, one thing is for certain –  Christopher Nolan best not kill off Harry during the film or it's about to go down.

Hell hath no fury like a Harry Styles fan scorned.
