Jared Leto is going to be in the next Blade Runner movie and it sounds pretty good.

The original 1982 cult film was directed by Ridley Scott and its modern sequel is to be produced by him.

Taking up the director's chair is Canadian Denis Villeneue.

Villeneur's current flick, Arrival, starring Amy Adams, is coming to movie theatres in November.

Academy Award-winning Leto is the latest name to be revealed for the exciting sequel to the replica-busting franchise.

He will be joining Harrison Ford (who will reprise his role as Rick Deckard) and sequel newbies Ryan Gosling and Robin Wright.

It has not been revealed who will be human or replica in the film, though, if Leto sticks to his method approach I'm sure we'll hear stories soon enough that might give us a hint.

Leto's latest film venture left him a little unsatisfied, since most of his scenes as Joker in Suicide Squad were cut.

This Blade Runner sequel, however, looks set to do a little better than the critically slated Suicide Squad.

Not only have Ford and Scott stayed on, but the original's co-writer, Hampton Fancher, has joined with Michael Green to pen a script thought up by Fancher and Scott.

It's not all old white dudes though, Canadian Actress Mackenzie Davis, most recently in Martian, is set to be in the movie, alongside Captain Philips actor Barkhad Abdi.

Abdi played opposite Tom Hanks in the 2013 film and it was his acting debut.

He received loads of film award nominations for his breakout role, including the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor and he won the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in A Supporting Role.

Looks like a stellar cast in our opinion, and we only have to wait over a year to see the fruits of their labour…
