Following a sketchy headline performance at V Festival on Saturday night, it looks like Justin Bieber is giving up music to forge a career as a footballer.

According to reports, the Bieb is following in the footsteps of fellow pop sensation Harry Styles and making a move towards Hollywood, with a role in a new film about an American football (or soccer, as they call it) player who travels to Europe to fulfill his football dreams as a player for Real Madrid.

But it looks like the A-list celebrity isn't the only one following a new career path.

Real-life footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is also said to be in negotiations to star opposite the singer in the new Harvey Weinstein production.

What is happening to the world?

With filming due to start next March, the Spanish football team will reportedly allow film crews to shoot inside the world famous Bernabeu stadium in Madrid during matches and when the stadium is empty.

With less than a year to prepare for his role, Bieber will need to put a lot of over-time to perfect his penalty shoot out and corner kicks.

However, it looks like his previous experience on the pitch might come in use as the singer has already trained with the Barcelona team and enjoyed a kick about with Neymar (who recently secured Brazil's gold medal win in the Rio Olympics).

We hate to admit it but we'll be sad to see Bieber go.

Is it too late now to say sorry?
