OK so 'Frosé' wins the prize for this Summer's silliest compound word.

But, as a coming together of two of our favourite things - namely, wine and dessert - we can't help but get on board with the slushy drink.

Yes, you guessed it, frosé is a nickname for frozen rosé, an ice-lolly inspired take on everyone's favourite pink wine.

As a Waitrose spokesperson told the Telegraph: 'Frosé really has taken the nation by storm, fusing together two summer favourites - rosé and cooling slushes.'

If the sourness of vino doesn't seem like it would make a good snowcone flavour to you, be not afeared, for this recipe we've discovered for at-home frosé indicates plenty of sugar goes into its making, turning the alcohol into syrupy goodness.
