During Kanye West's speech at the 2016 VMAs on Sunday, the whole world waited with baited breathe at what cringe-inducing faux pas Yeezy might make, given his track history with Taylor Swift, Beck and Beyoncé.

The singer first surprised fans by smiling (yes, the man smiles) before praising Beyoncé's 'Lemonade', explaining his inspiration behind his video for 'Famous', giving a nod to his ex Amber Rose, championing his wife as a 'G' and spoke of his phone conversation with Taylor.

But the real shock of the night was the reveal of his new music video for 'Fade', featuring Teyana Taylor dancing in a thong and sports bra (very Flashdance) before transforming into a cat and posing with her baby daughter Junie and fiancé Iman Shumpert.

Since then, Twitter has been in meltdown with fans in awe at the dancer's physique (especially given the fact she gave birth eight months ago) and her inspiring dance moves.

As a result, we look into everything we know about the 25-year-old star:

1. She's a star in her own right

In 2007, Teyana signed a recording contract with Pharrell Williams' Star Trak Entertainment, resulting in a full-length mixtape 'From a Planet Called Harlem', before she moved to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music in 2012.

Her reputation in the industry slowly grew following a studio album called 'VII' in 2014 followed by 'The Cassette Tape 1994' in 2015 and a collaboration with West on his fifth album, 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.'

She's also starred in films such as Stomp the Yard 2 and was a judge on America's Best Dance Crew. Not bad for someone who is just 25-years-old.

2. Her face is familiar

Why?

Because she appeared in MTV's My Super Sweet 16 in 2007 (you know the programme with bratty teens who spend their parents' millions on stupid themed parties and normally end up with a car as a present?)

In true Teyana style, she threw a 1980s hip-hop themed bash, had a dance-off and tried to get a skating ramp built in the New York venue.

3. She's engaged to Iman Shumpert

Her fiancé and 'Fade' co-star is a basketball point guard for the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers.

The 26-year-old proposed to Teyana last November with a ruby engagement ring shaped like a rose at the star's royal-themed baby shower in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Cleveland.

4. Her fiancé delivered her baby on the bathroom floor

Taylor gave birth to her baby Junie in December on the bathroom floor with the help of Iman.

The day she gave birth, she said:'She came out as a wonderful surprise to everyone!'

5. She works out by dancing

You only have to see Teyana dancing in Kanye West's new music video to see she has a phenomenal physique, which she credits to dancing.

'Dancing is my workout. I just dance. I almost feel like dance is so underrated in the fitness world,' she said.

And according to her friends, Teyana hates dieting, preferring to eat doughnuts and sweets for breakfast.

Surprisingly, the star found out she was to star in West's video just three weeks before shooting which didn't leave much time to prepare. However, by the looks of it, she hardly needed to get 'into shape' for her role.

'When I saw it, I was just as in shock as everyone else, because I didn't see the final product until he premiered it,' she says.

Right that's it – we're off for a boogie.

Bye.
