The Beatles once said: 'I get by with a little help from my friends.'

And that's exactly what happened to actor Tom Hiddleston last night during his acceptance speech after winning the TV Choice Award for Best Actor for his role as Jonathan Pine in the BBC's The Night Manager.

But unfortunately for the 35-year-old, it wasn't exactly the 'help' he expected.

The actor – who is currently filming Thor: Ragnarok in Australia – accepted his award via video message but was soon interrupted by his co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Idris Elba, who stole the limelight.

In the video, Chris can be seen grabbing the award and sarcastically thanking Channel 7 for their support for the Australian soap opera Home and Away (in which he first found fame) while Idris took the opportunity to say 'hi' to his mum and jokingly question why BBC's Luther wasn't nominated.

Oh, burn.
