The wait is over: Lady Gaga's comeback single 'Perfect Illusion' is here and it's glorious.
After hyping her Little Monsters with weeks of build-up, Gaga released this pop gem today (September 9) for all of us to savour going into the weekend.
Gaga has been doling out bits and pieces of info about 'Perfect Illusion' on social media throughout the week, including sharing a collage of images from its music video and tweeting lyrics.
While she'd been tight-lipped about her music comeback for months, Gaga did promise us at a recent music conference that 'Perfect Illusion' was a song "about modern ecstasy". Yes, it definitely is!
Gaga once again teamed on 'Perfect Illusion' with mega-producer Mark Ronson, who has been hyping the song as just a taste of an "incredible" album to come.
"I can't wait until you can hear it because the music speaks for itself – some of my favourite musicians of all time are working on it," Ronson hinted.
Gaga's most recent collaborative album Cheek to Cheek with Tony Bennett was a massive change of pace into the standards genre, so 'Perfect Illusion' is technically the proper follow-up to the masterpiece Artpop.
In celebration of her return to the pop world, Lady Gaga guest hosted the Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw on Friday (September 9) to dish all about her upcoming album.
