Anyone who uses Instagram will understand the addictive nature of acquiring more followers, posting 'likeable' pictures and creating a social media profile that displays a near perfect lifestyle.

But one person who is tired of the app is actress Daisy Ridley.

This week, Ridley announced she officially deleted her Instagram account due to the 'pressure' of posting content for her 2.3 million followers.

During her appearance at the Student Academy Awards in Los Angeles, the 24-year-old admitted:

'I felt a pressure being on it. I was like 'I need to post. Oh my God, it's been this many days'. It's actually been kind of nice not to be on it.

'I'm 24. I have a lot of growing up to do. I have to deal with loads of stuff myself personally. For that to be projected with millions of people watching, that is like a bit of an extra pressure,' she added.

The Star Wars: The Force Awakens star originally deleted her account back in August following a post relating to gun control in the US that sparked an onslaught of pro-gun supporters trolling the actress.

She later explained her reasoning for taking a step back from the app to say:

'I just want to be on my phone less! Trying to be more present and all that and got a busy few months ahead so wanted less distractions…'

After all, there is more to life than Instagram.
