It's finally happened: Sophie Grégoire Trudeau has joined social media and we officially have a new online woman crush to follow.
On Tuesday, the 41-year-old activist and wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced she had joined Facebook and Instagram on International Day of the Girl and said:
'For the past decade or so, I've resisted getting on social media in every way. But now, as a 41 year-old mother of 3 young kids and activist for gender equality and women's and girls' rights: It's time. On this International Day of the Girl, it's time to share the amazing journey we're on together.'
In one of her first posts to Facebook, Trudeau revealed she hopes to use social media to get to know her fellow Canadians and citizens around the world and share more about her life – 'very little of which is spent in heels and dresses, by the way!' she added.
'I'm an activist for gender equality, a nature lover, an adventurous athlete, and a curious and open-hearted woman hoping to help others find justice, balance and inner peace,' she continued.
In one of her first posts to Instagram, the Canadian regrammed a picture from Emma Watson's account which detailed the first time the pair met each other, which saw Trudeau picking Watson up on a Vespa to show her around Ottawa, Canada.
In the regrammed photo caption, Sophie wrote: 'Emma, beautiful friend, you know how much I admire your path, dedication and hard work toward gender equality. You are a kind-hearted and generous soul! Until our next ride!'
So, are we right in thinking if we find a Vespa, Emma Watson will spend the day with us?
Our love for Sophie Trudeau is off the scale right now.
