After giving birth, your daily priorities shift quite drastically:

  • Watch baby like a hawk.
  • Attempt to step outside with baby before realising life as a vampire isn't so bad.
  • Demolish pot of Pringles for sustenance. Cooking is far too much effort.
  • Start watching This Morning religiously.
  • Cry a bit.
  • Plan to wash hair at some point before the New Year.

But, for Blake Lively (a.k.a Wonder Woman), it's a time to learn how to cook hearty American dishes from a pair of television chefs.

Over the weekend, the Gossip Girl star and her husband Ryan Reynolds took to Instagram to thank Food Network chefs Adam and Jackie Sappington for their private cookery lessons.

Reynolds caption an image of his wife and the Sappington family with the words: 'If anybody's looking for them, they're handcuffed to my stove until the next olympics. I'll raise their two boys as if they were my own--which, frankly, is a terrible thing for all involved.'

Meanwhile, Blake shared a picture of her sitting alongside the chefs, looking ecstatic holding the pair's cookery book, Heartlandia: Heritage Recipes From Portland's The Country Cat.

For us Brits who haven't a clue who the Sappington chefs are, the pair recently appeared on an episode of Chopped on the Food Network channel where they impressed with buttermilk-fried rocky mountain oysters and Canadian bacon chocolate-toffee bark.

Hungry, much?

Right, so not only did Blake manage to attend her best friend's wedding days after giving birth to her second child but she's also got her eyes set on adding 'cooking extraordinaire' to her many talents.

Meanwhile, we've been wearing the same tracksuit bottoms for two days straight. Go figure...
