Photographer Hennessy Vandheur captured the intimate moment after he was struck by the apparent demonstration of love during the unrest and turmoil at recent anti-Trump protest in New York City.

"This was probably my favorite moment from the entire night and I'm happy to have been there to capture it," Vandheur wrote on Instagram. "Love in the midst of chaos and uncertainty."

He added, "We stand together, against the hate in this country right now - and nothing will put out the fire in our hearts. I stand with our brothers and sisters, POC and LGBTQ, women, immigrants, and everyone else whose lives and well-beings trump endangers. #lovetrumpshate"

Since it was posted last Wednesday, the photo has received thousands of likes and praise from commenters who are treating it as symbol of hope and inspiration following Trump's victory. It quickly reached viral status on Twitter, with many calling it "beautiful", "pure", and "hopeful."

According to BuzzFeed News, the two women kissing are university students Laura Hetherington and her girlfriend Giovanna "Jo" Barba. Hetherington said she was proud to be part of a such a powerful message and hopes the photo serves as a "reminder for those who see it: In the midst of hatred, opposition, and oppression our love will persist." Words that become even more inspiring during such uncertainty.
