Rapper Kanye West has reportedly been admitted to hospital, days after cancelling his Saint Pablo tour.

According to the BBC, a police spokesperson said they received a 'disturbance call' on Monday afternoon about an adult male, rumoured to be Kanye West.

The incident was later reported to be a 'medical emergency' and was subsequently passed onto the fire department who said the male was to undergo 'further assessment'.

A spokesman for the LA Fire Department said: 'At 13:20 Pacific Time, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to an unspecified medical aid request.

'An adult male described as medically stable was taken to an area hospital for further assessment,' they added.

While neither West nor his representatives have made an official statement about the rumours, The New York Times have stated they've spoken to a representative of the singer who revealed the father-of-two had been taken to UCLA Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation.

The news comes days after the 39-year-old abandoned his show in Sacramento, California following a surprising rant about Jay Z, Hillary Clinton, racism and where he controversially admitted he hadn't voted in the Presidential election, but was pro-Trump.

West's wife, Kim Kardashian, was expected to make her first public appearance since the star's terrifying Paris robbery at the Angel Ball in New York City on Monday evening, but failed to show up and was later spotted boarding a flight back to Los Angeles.

Before news of West's reported hospitalisation, his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner told US TV show Extra: 'He's exhausted, he's just really tired. He's had a gruelling tour and it's been a grind so he just needs some rest.'

Our thoughts go out to those involved at this difficult time.
