As the Spice Girls would say: 'Goodbye my friend, I know you're gone, you said you're gone, but I can still feel you here. It's not the end.'

But, unfortunately for HBO's Emmy Award-winning series Girls, it is the end.

On 12th February, we will finally embark on the sixth and final season of Girls, following a fifth season that saw (*SPOILER ALERT*) Ray become Marnie's lover/roadie, Shoshana return to New York after being fired from her job in Japan, Jessa telling Adam she will never forgive him for ruining her relationship with Hannah and Hannah finally finding peace with herself, aptly summed up in a monologue at the storytelling night, The Moth.

Ahead of the final season, HBO released the first teaser for the new season which sees Marnie pull up to her apartment in an open-top convertible with Desi, Shoshana say she's 'freaking out' (surprise, surprise), Elijah dancing, Hannah attempting to learn to surf before unsurprisingly overanalysing her life to tell Elijah: 'I haven't made my mark on this city yet.'

While we actually don't learn much from the 40-second clip, we must admit it's got us incredibly excited for the new season.

Will Jessa and Hannah become friends again? Will we finally figure out how we actually feel about Adam? Will Marnie ever become less conceited? Who know, who knows.

Dunham also posted the video with the caption: 'So let's dance the last dance. Let's dance the last dance. Let's dance this last dance tonight.'

The end is nigh.
