After four years of fighting between rebel groups battling the Syrian army in protest against President Bashar al Assad's regime, fighting has finally come to a head this week in the Syrian city of Aleppo.

Between yesterday and today, almost 8,000 Syrians from eastern Aleppo's besieged districts have been evacuated in buses, ambulances and private cars but now evacuations have suspended after al-Qaida linked fighters in Idlib province have put an end to the evacuation of two pro-government villages.

As a result, a restaurant called Olympia Restaurant has taken to Facebook to share images of what four years of fighting has done to Syria's precious city and its inhabitants.

Please can we see an end to so much misery?
