The adored dating app has released its list of the most swipe-right names on Tinder in 2016 and the most popular monikers may not be what you think

Tinder releases most right swiped names

Last week, Tinder announced it had teamed up with Apple TV so you can now enjoy swiping left and right with your entire family, and we for one couldn't think of anything worse than having to explain to Nanna Jill what a d*ck pic was.

But, according to the dating app, there's a list of specific first names that ranked the most popular in 2016, meaning you might actually be in with a chance of bagging a man or woman on your arm, just in time for that dreaded New Years Eve party.

Personally, I'm all for grabbing the nearest bottle of bubbly and jumping up and down like a mad woman with my girlfriends at the gong of midnight but, whatever floats your boat.

Since its launch in April 2015, the swipe-friendly app has seen a shocking eight billion matches but it looks like the people who found the most dates this year were called Harry and Amelia. Congrats!
