If you've read the news in the last few days, you'll know that Donald Trump has insinuated he may still move towards the 'Muslim ban' that became such a big part of his Presidential campaign.

After the attacks in Berlin on Wednesday last week, the President Elect was asked about his initial proposal, to create a registry for Muslims in the United States, with a view to eventually putting in place some sort of ban or restrictions on their entry into the country.

Speaking after the deadly attack at a German Christmas market, Trump said of his anti-Muslim stance: 'You know my plans. All along, I've been proven to be right, 100 percent correct.'

Unluckily for Trump though, there is still Obama, who seems to be making it his mission to throw every possible obstacle in the way of Trump's most insidious plans.

As Barack Obama will still be in possession of his place in the Whitehouse until January 20, 2017, there are a few things he can do, which Trump will find hard to immediately overturn.

One such thing, is the ban that Barack Obama has just put in place on on offshore oil and gas drilling in the Arctic and on the Atlantic Seaboard.

But today marks another, very important move on the U.S. political chessboard.

Obama has just dismantled the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System for Muslims.

Donald Trump has been threatening to create such a registration system for Muslims for months and if he'd done his research properly, he would have discovered that one has actually been in existence for a while, though it has lain largely dormant throughout the Obama administration.

The programme was used to track people from Muslim-majority countries, detecting and logging their entry and exit of the United States of America.

By dismantling the dormant registration system, Obama has just made it that much harder for Donald Trump to re-instate it, throwing one giant 'check-mate' in the way of Trump's eventual plans for a (horrendous) blanket Muslim ban.
