Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.

Most of us will unfollow someone on Instagram or Twitter due to incessant selfies or boring reflections on life and the move will go unnoticed.

But, in La La Land, a tactical 'unfollow' never goes undiscovered and consequently sends the rumour mill into overdrive as to whether the decision proves a high-profile bust-up or break-up.

An 'unfollow' in Hollywood is pretty much the same as a celebrity holding a big sign over their forehead on the red carpet that reads, 'It's over'.

So, imagine our shock when we heard Rihanna has not-so-secretly unfollowed Jennifer Lopez on Instagram, according to E! News.

I know, right? Shock to the horror.

'Big deal. Maybe RiRi just wasn't a fan of Jenny from the Block's music anymore? Perhaps Rihanna thought it was a good idea to watch Lopez's film Gigli over the Christmas holidays and soon realised she'll never get those two hours back in life?', you cry.

Well, no my friends because we have a funny feeling that the decision to unfollow J.Lo stems from news that Drake – a.k.a the man who earlier this year professed his undying love for RiRi – has been spotted on numerous outings with the Maid In Manhattan star and has decided to go public with his new romance.

It all started two weeks ago when Lopez posted a picture of her cosying up to the 'One Dance' star to Instagram and wrote the caption, 'Look who rolled up to my show tonight to say hi!! @champagnepapi #lovehim #jlovegas #ALLIHAVE'.

But, now it looks like Drake and J.Lo's friendship has been stepped up a notch after the pair posted an intimate snap to their Instagram accounts earlier today which sees them snuggling up to each other.

To be fair, we've never been quite sure of the relationship status of Rihanna and Drake given that Rihanna has been relentlessly coy about their pair's dalliances and Drake's dad Dennis Graham spoke out earlier this summer to say the pair were just 'friends', but we've been holding out for a reunion between the pair.

After all, Drake is RiRi's lobster.

But, while news of Drake's blossoming romance with J.Lo might have our heads in a spin, it looks like (ahem, despite the 'unfollow') Rihanna has been enjoying the single life of late; hanging out with Prince Harry in Barbados, promoting her FENTYxPUMA fashion line and working on her up-coming film, Ocean's Eight.

To quote Mean Girls, 'I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy...'

There's no point in losing a friendship over a boy, RiRi.
