Walking on hot coals covered in drawing pins while being bitten by tiny ants. That's what it feels like after a few hours walking in high heels.

Other than slinging the stilettos in the bin, carrying the heels in your hand as you jump over puddles and stale chewing gum on the floor or making shoes out of leftover McDonalds bags like that girl did before Christmas, there's not much you can do to remedy the gnawing pain of blisters.

On the red carpet of Sunday night's Golden Globes, Chrissy Teigen broke tradition when she decided to plonk herself down on the steps of the red carpet to give her flippers a little rest, right before shaking hands with Ryan Reynolds.

Teigen's decision even earned her a high five from veteran red carpet walker Blake Lively, who seemed impressed with the model's nonchalant timeout at one of the most glamours shows of the year.

Later that night, Teigen tweeted a photo of her snuggling up to her dog – shoes abandoned – proving that everyone deserves a good lie down after squeezing their heels into tiny torture souls, commonly known as high heels, for the night.

All hail the Teig.
