Ever considered quitting your job, running away to New York and joining the Pratt Institute?

Do you dream back to your Sixth Form days and imagine putting Camberwell, or Slade at the top of your UCAS form?

Well, dream no longer.

Central St Martins and the Tate have joined forces to make a free, drop-in art school at the new Switch House at the Tate.

The project is meant to act as an exploration into what the future of art schools in the UK could look like.

The schedule is full of lectures, studio-making and workshops that are meant to reject orthodox ideas surrounding art teaching.

The programme is in direct response to the governments shrinking arts funding in the UK.

This Is An Art School says of itself:

'While this cacophony of creativity may offer a utopian ambition for arts education, there is a pressing point at its heart.

We are concerned that in the current economic and political climate there is a systematic assault on arts education in the UK.'

The collaboration ends on the 15th, so get down on the weekend to show your support, and maybe do a life-drawing class!
