Amandla Stenberg's comic Niobe: She Is Life, is back for its fourth issue.

Around this time last year Amandla spoke to Solange Knowles for Teen Vogue, a little but about her then new comic book.

She said, growing up, I was always super into fantasy and The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones and all of that, but I could never find black characters whom I really liked.'

Despite the character's journey being rooted firmly in fantasy, Amandla identified a lot with Niobe, 'She's finding her faith and finding her identity. And she's going to keep growing until she becomes this warrior destined to unite the human world and the elf world.'

Perhaps a little bit like Amandla's quest to educate the world one video and interview at a time.

She told Solange that, 'it's officially the first comic book to be written by a black girl, starring a black girl [Niobe Ayutami], and illustrated by a black girl [Ashley A. Woods].'

Two days ago Amandla released new images from the fourth and most recent comic.

This comic follows Niobe's fight against a horde of orcs.

The website explains;

Morka Moa's horde of orcs has found Niobe, and war has come to Bragnar's monastery. Niobe must fight, but she will not stand alone, with her Galemren brethren and a dwarven king by her side. But what of Sin, the half-orc caught between the girl he loves and his murderous father?
