Katy Perry doesn't do things by halves.

After all, this is a woman who rode into the Super Bowl XLIX Half Time Show on a mechanical lion, won the Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award at the 2016 UNICEF Snowflake Ball (presented to her by Hillary Clinton), and was snapped paddle boarding with her boyfriend, Orlando Bloom, in that memorable nudie picture last summer.

So it comes as no surprise Perry has teased a snippet of her upcoming new single on Instagram, the same day she it was revealed she'd be performing at this weekend's Grammy Awards.

Yesterday, the Californian beauty posted a video to Instagram of her highly-anticipated new track with the caption: 'Why are we all so chained... #FRIDAYTHE10TH'

In the video, a woman can be seen linked to a glitter ball and chain, wearing perspex high heels and showing off an adorable stripey smiley face on her ankle.

According to E! News, the single – the 32-year-old's first since last summer's Olympics anthem, 'Rise', is called 'Chained to the Rhythm' and was co-produced by Max Martin and Sia.

Hours earlier, the 'I Kissed A Girl' singer posted another video of billboard going up in Hollywood with her face and the Spotify logo, leading many to presume her new single will be available to listen via the digital music service.

She captioned the video: 'New clue: Feb 10'

Now, call us crazy but, do you think something is going down on Friday?

The news follows reports Perry will be performing at this weekend's 2017 Grammy Awards – where she's nominated for a whopping 13 awards – and will join the likes of Beyoncé, Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga, Metallica, Adele, Bruno Mars and The Weeknd.

Let the countdown commence.
