On Wednesday, K Pizzle (why does no-one call her that?) tweeted the announcement to say: 'Leave your bubble (and bring your headphones)', followed by a link to a snippet of her new song.

She had already been Intagramming about the new single throughout the day but, in a video later uploaded to Twitter, the songstress posted a clip of her inserting head phones into a glitter ball, debuting manicured nails with letters that read, 'find me'.

In another post, the singer posted a map with a link, instructing her fans where to go to listen to her new tune from disco balls-come-speakers placed across the world, complete with head phone jacks.

Great idea, right?

Well, it was...for some eager fans.

Following Perry's post, Kenzie Bryant from Vanity Fair popped down to one of the disco balls at a park in Brooklyn, New York and found a mere 'handful' of people at the installment.

To be specific, six people in one hour.

At least it meant Perry's hardcore fan base got a lot of alone time with a snippet of the track.

However, fans of the Californian-born star didn't need to wait long to hear the full song as it came out today, availably to stream at your leisure, with or without a glitter ball.

But, Perry shouldn't get herself down – after all, it was a weekday.

Katy, give us some notice next time and we'll be sure to call in sick in preparation for your next big reveal.
