In the world of Hollywood, it's often hard to remember who has dated who, who is going through a messy divorce legal battle, and who's related.
For instance, did you know that BFF Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid are ex-step sisters? Or that feminist/activist icon, Gloria Steinem, is Christian Bale's step-mother?
Heck, I almost forgot Michale Bublé dated Emily Blunt, who then went onto marry the Office's John Krasinski, who is now brother-in-laws with Stanley Tucci.
Oh, what a tangled web these celebrities weave.
So, imagine our surprise when Nicole Kidman reminded us all that she once dated leather-pants rock god, Lenny Kravitz.
In 2003, the Lion actress and 'Are You Going To Go My Way?' singer enjoyed a low key romance, following her split from Tom Cruise.
According to the Mirror, Lenny even penned his song 'Lady' about the Australian star before the pair split.
However, Kidman has just revealed the pair didn't just date but were, in fact, engaged.
In an interview with Net-A-Porter magazine, the Oscar-winner admitted she was secretly engaged to the American guitar hero, almost ten years after telling Vanity Fair of an engagement to a former partner.
'It just wasn't right, I wasn't ready - we weren't ready,' she told the publication.
However, when talking about her upcoming role HBO series Big Little Lies, starring opposite Zoe Kravtiz (Lenny's daughter), Kidman admitted she knew the young actress well 'because I was engaged to her father'.
'It's all in the family. I love Lenny; he's a great guy,' she added.
Despite their serious romance, Kidman and Kravitz appear to have had an amicable split and have regularly been spotted bumping into each other with their respective other halves, hugging and posing for pictures together.
The pair most recently ran into each other at the CMT Music Awards in 2013, after Nicole had married Keith, where her ex-fiancé and husband were spotted embracing in a hug.
Why can't all break-ups be like this?
