What's the worst thing about falling asleep on an aeroplane?

Missing the food trolley?

Waking up with the worst neck ache ever and two dead legs?

How about waking up to find that the police have been called by the person next to you, because you were 'allowed' on the flight?

Well, that's apparently what happened to non-binary performance artist and LGBT activist Mykki Blanco two days ago.

Mykki is a poet and rapper who announced an HIV-positive result in 2015 on a Facebook post.

Mykki has been a vocal advocate and recently performed Zoe Leonard's seminal 1992 poem ,'I Want A Dyke For President' for Dazed magazine.

And as if there wasn't enough irony in the world already, this latest aeroplane incident only goes to show just how much we still need Mykki's work in 2017.

Blanco tweeted the entire incident, so you can see for yourself how it went down:

If it seems Mykki is vague on the details, it's because they are vague. Mykki was reportedly asleep during the whole flight.

Delta have actually responded to Mykki's problems and offered to try and help.

It's great that the company are taking Mykki's issue seriously and hopefully it will bring more attention to daily difficulties LGBT people encounter.
