Last night's Academy Awards just saw the most dramatic moment in its 89-year history, when actor Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway wrongly announced that La La Land had won the Oscar for 'Best Picture', despite the fact Moonlight was the actual winner.
Tasked with announcing what is arguably the most important award of the night (no pressure?), Beatty and Dunaway revealed Damien Chazelle's Oscar-winning musical had won the golden gong, much to the cast and filmmakers excitement, who soon took to the stage to give their acceptance speeches.
However, it wasn't long before the organisers and Beatty realised they had made a grave mistake and it was, in fact, Barry Jenkins' Miami-based film, Moonlight, that was the worthy winner, causing a lot of furore on stage and on social media:
So. Much. Drama.
