The news is such that bad headlines supersede good.

Because of this, the world can seem like a truly terrible place, and perhaps it is. But for every horrible act, there are plenty of people doing good and being loving.

Case-in-point 18-year-old Shaedon Wedel, from Kansas, who invited his best friend's sister to prom.

Wedel's best friend, Carson, has a lovely family that has treated Shaedon as if he was their own, he told CBS, 'They have been so kind and nurturing to me.'

Since the beginning of the year, he has been planning to surprise Carson's younger sister, Carlie, who is 15-years-old and has Down Syndrome, by asking her to prom.

The family caught a video of Shaedon's big reveal.

His t-shirt says, 'I know I'm nacho typical Dorito but...' (on the front) 'I'm going to be cheesy and ask: will you go to prom with me?'(on the back).

And Shaedon wasn't serving up some classic cheese puns for no reason either, turns out Carlie is a Dorito fantatic. He told CBS, 'I decided on the Doritos theme because I have known her for 7 years and there has not been a day that I have not seen her eat Doritos... She absolutely loves them!'

He handed the ecstatic Carlie a bunch of flowers and a bag of Doritos as she accepted his prom proposal.

The video has been viewed over 200,000 times and shared over 1,000 times on Facebook.

Twitter is also loving it.

Now make sure you put some prom photo's up Shaedon, and if you hurt sweet Carlie we will go full Taken on your ass...
