Let us set the scene.

It's 7pm on a Saturday night at Kensington Palace. Prince George is brushing his tiny royal teeth in his bathroom – dressed in monogrammed 'George' bathrobe and Dr Who pyjamas – as his mother, Kate Middleton, carries Princess Charlotte to her princess bed before reading her a bedtime story about Peppa Pig.

As George finally makes his way to bed, where he will dream of one day ruling his kingdom, an exhausted Prince William and Kate slump on the sofa, mulling over what to make for dinner.

'How does a prawn laksa curry bowl, sound Will?' Kate asks – mid yawn – as she opens the Deliveroo app on her phone while her husband scrolls through the Sky planner to start the next episode of Game of Thrones.

Right, now I know this might sound like a work of fiction but this is actually a standard Saturday night in at the Windsor household, according to the royal couple.

During a BBC 1 Radio interview last Friday, Prince William revealed the pair are obsessed with Game of Thrones and Homeland.

'We're both actually quite keen on box sets,' he admitted, while Kate let slip there's only one takeout order on the menu for a night in front of the television.

'Curry, definitely,' she joked.

The 34-year-old prince added: 'I'm not so good with spicy food. It doesn't usually get ordered to the palace to be honest, normally someone goes and picks it up.'

Sounds like the dream, right?

Oh, and if you think the pair tuck into their madras and tandoori spiced pork chops in a suit and L.K. Bennett heels, you can think again.

'I've got my comfy clothes I wear at home, definitely,' revealed Prince William.

The royal couple – who will be attending the wedding of Kate's sister, Pippa, next month – also said they've grown fond on their children's favorite television programmes such as Fireman Sam.

'Some of them are really good but you have to pretend you're really interested because George gets very upset if you're not showing due diligence to the characters,' he added.

If you ever need a babysitter, Will and Kate, you know where we are.
