Earlier today, Kim Kardashian celebrated a big milestone in her life.
No, it's not her birthday, but the day she acquired over 100 million followers on Instagram.
She enjoyed the momentous occasion by posting a picture of her four-year-old daughter, North West, posing at Universal Studios Universal, along with the caption: 'She has no clue what 100 million followers means but she's excited 'cause I'm excited lol thanks for the follows and the love.'
Now, while celebrating followers on social media might not be worthy of jubilation for most people, it will be a particular marker of success for the reality star.
Earlier this year, the star returned to social media after months of radio silence following her terrifying Paris robbery, that saw her tied up and robbed of her 20-carat diamond engagement ring – an incident she later credited as changing her view of how much of her life she displays on social media.
She told Ellen Degeneres on her eponymously named show: 'It was meant to happen to me. I really feel like things happen in your life to teach you things. It was probably no secret, and you see it on the show—I was being flashy and I was definitely materialistic before.'
As a result, the mother-of-two has gifted her millions of fans rareinsight into the personal stories behind her most liked photos in recent months.
She took to her website to explain: 'I can't believe I've reached 100 million followers on Instagram, thanks to you guys!!! To celebrate, I wanted to take a look back at my most-liked posts. I appreciate my fans (and family) more than you know. You guys are the best!'
'This pic was taken in April when we had Easter at our house,' she wrote, sharing the photo above. 'Family is everything to me.'
'This was the first photo I posted on Instagram after taking a few months off from social media,' she described the photo of her husband, Kanye, North and Saint. 'I wanted to spend as much quality time with my family as possible.'
'Saint is the sweetest boy. He never cries or fusses. I love watching him grow up,' she added, describing the photo of her son.
'This picture was taken wen Kanye was on tour and we all met in New York. It's always so special to be together—especially when our schedules can be so busy,' she explained of her family shot.
It looks like Kim is loving family life right now.
