When you hear the word 'rapper' what images come to mind?

Gold chains and Moët? Bikini's strewn over the wooden deck of a yacht bigger than your own home?

Ok, we're basically imagining ridiculous rap videos...

Anyway, truth be told, rappers come in all shapes, sizes and temperaments, not just the Brüt-swilling, money-raining kind.

And, even if they are partial to some fur coats and private jets, that doesn't mean some of that hard-earned cash isn't going to some worthy causes.

Enter 34-year-old Nicki Minaj who's already made headlines this month for spontaneously paying for some of her fan's school fees if they were getting straight A's.

She sent out a Tweet and a couple of hours later had agreed to pay for at least four different student's fees.

Now the rapper has revealed she's been up to even more charitable do-gooding, this time for a village in India.

Minaj posted a short video of a man pumping a well, surrounded by women, thanking Pastor Lydia for sending money to help them get fresh water.

She captioned the video:

This is the kind of thing that makes me feel the most proud. The money I've sent to this village in India for the last couple years [via my Pastor Lydia Sloley], has gotten them a Computer Center, a Tailoring Institute, a Reading Program and 2 WATER WELLS. We complain about the most ridiculous little things when some ppl don't even have clean water. Blessings to India. Our work is far from done. I'll tell you guys more about my charity work in the near future in case you'd like to be a part of it. Love🙏🏽

The secret philanthropist has so far kept her charitable giving on the down low, but promised to tell more people in the future about the projects she's involved in so that others can pitch in.

It's good to see Minaj spreading the wealth. Don't go changing Nicki.
