If you're a woman who has ever worked in the service industry you know the unfortunate truth that guys will make passes at you all. the. time.

Doesn't matter if you're in a fancy restaurant with a dress code or a dive pub with sticky floors, men will find you, and they will try and get with you.

When in a normal situation you might be able to politely walk away or aggressively tell them to f*** off (depending on your mood/ their method of 'flirting'), but when you're a waitress or bar tender you literally have to be nice to them.

Also you can't leave, because, you know, you're at work.

But it's a pretty rubbish reality, considering it's your job to serve people, and they won't let you do it with any dignity.

Thankfully, a bar in Exeter has made a handy sign for dudes who visit.

The sign reads, 'Why the female cashier is being nice to you,' with two options, 'She is uncontrollably sexually attracted to you,'or' Because that's literally her fucking job you cretin.'

The second option is handily colored in.

Apparently, the note was placed up because a female staff member was harassed by a male customer.

The bar called The Beer Cellar tweeted the photo of the sign with the caption, 'This is definitely our favourite sign in the bar. Also if dudes could stop trying to kiss our female bartender's hands that would be great.'

The illustrator of the sign, Charlotte Mullin, spoke to Mashable about the thoughts behind the it.

'I wanted to make it clear that female staff are nice to you because they have to be! And, of course, most of us are decent human beings and would be nice to you anyway, but in no way does this mean we're dying for your dick.'

Well said Charlotte.

The Tweet has so far garnered over 50k likes and 23k retweets.

And whilst some people (like us) love the sign.

Others (presumably the ones who are trying to get with the bar maids) not so much.

Thankfully, this bar is super progressive and won't take rubbish from people on the internet:

In more good news, Mullin is thinking of making the sign into a print. We say she should turn it into a t-shirt - sounds like excellent pub uniform to us.
