The week didn't really get off to a good start for the Trump family, did it? (To be fair, when do they ever have a good week.)
It first started with President Trump accidentally tweeting the word 'covfefe' instead of (presumably) 'conference' on Twitter, leading the whole world to speculate whether there was a secret message in his misspelling, he was ordering a late night caffeine drink, it was the name of Ivanka's latest fragrance, or he was tweeting a Russian codeword.
Then came the politician's decision to withdraw the US from the Paris climate agreement, subsequently crumbling the mission to combat global warming which involves almost 200 countries working together to curb greenhouse gas emissions in order to prevent the irreparable damage of climate change that will occur if temperatures spiral 2C or more.
Of course, it didn't take long before his eldest daughter, Ivanka, added more fuel to the ever-growing Trump fire, tweeting her support for the LGBTQ community.
Last night, the assistant to the President tweeted:
No, don't worry, you're reading this correctly.
These words come from someone who campaigned alongside a man who rolled back trans students rights to use transgender bathrooms, revoked questions concerning the LGBTQ community from the 2020 US Census, whose vice president wanted to defund programmes that helped people with HIV in order to redirect the money to gay conversion therapy.
Unsurprisingly, it didn't take long before the LGBTQ community asked Ivanka to voice her support for them to someone who needs to hear it most – her father.
You might want to '@' your Dad in your tweets about supporting the LGBTQ community next time, Ivanka.
