If you weren't already aware, Kate Beckinsale is an absolute legend.
When she's not dressing up in penis and horse costumes, pulling pranks on her family and co-stars, and recreating a birth photo with her daughter Lily and ex Michael Sheen, the 43-year-old British actress is celebrating her 'unconventional family' on Instagram.
Yesterday, the Underworld star posted a funny, slow-motion video of her, Sheen and their 18-year-old daughter walking into Lily's school graduation, with an adorable message about the beauty of their little family.
'We may not be a conventional family but we have love and humour and respect and care,' Beckinsale wrote.
'And I am proud to have walked this far with both of you and to have @lily_beckinsale walk us into the future.'
'God bless love, and good hearts, and loyalty and friendship,' she added.
The Pearl Harbour star also posted an image of the pair's daughter walking up to the stage to receive her high school diploma, captioning the image: 'PHRESH out of high school @lily_beckinsale . I am so proud of you I have nearly forgiven you for saying other parents don't bring air horns to the ceremony that was a LIE, go git it my brilliant gorgeous girl.'
While Beckinsale and actor ex Sheen might have split in 2003 after nine years of marriage, the two parents have defied the odds and remained the best of friends, regularly posting hilarious photos of each other and their daughter on their social media accounts.
Just last year, the proud parents celebrated the fact their daughter had received a college acceptance letter to New York University, with Kate posting a photograph on her Instagram page of the pair leaping into Michael's arms as they celebrated the achievement.
'The appropriate fatherly response when you find out your girl got into college: burst into tears, drop everything, rush over and pick up everyone even remotely involved,' she captioned the snap.
Meanwhile, Kate has gushed on numerous occasions about her ex's current girlfriend, comedian Sarah Silverman, revealing to ES magazine: 'I really love his girlfriend as well and we are lucky we both get on, and Lily gets on great with her — having as many strong females in your teenage daughter's life as possible is a good thing', she enthused.
Kate, Lily, Michael and Sarah have even spent several recent holidays together, unfazed by suggestions their set-up might be awkward.
'We had Thanksgiving at his girlfriend's house and they're having Christmas at our house. We like hanging out with each other, so it's not like, 'Oh, who gets Lily?' or whatever. It's like, 'Whose house are we going to be at?' she added.
Now, this is an unconventional family we'd like to be part of.
