Adele comforted the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire on Wednesday evening (14 June) as she attended a vigil in west London.

The 29-year-old singer was spotted with her husband Simon Konecki as they joined the crowd in Kensington who gathered to pay tribute to those who have lost their lives, been injured or had their homes destroyed.

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: 'Adele was spotted at Grenfell Tower today offering her support to everyone affected by the tragedy,' while someone else said: 'Adele was going around and hugging everyone she could to comfort them.'

Another fan added: 'The fact that Adele has gone to Grenfell Tower and not said a word about it just proves how amazingly sincere she is.'

Meanwhile, among those offering to help anyone affected by the fire that broke out at the London tower block, Jamie Oliver took to Instagram to offer free food and drink at his restaurant Jamie's Italian in Westfield Shepherd's Bush.

'To any of the 100's of families affected by this terrible fire at Grenfell Tower Notting Hill today, you are all welcome to come hang out in my restaurant and be fed and watered by my Jamie's Italian team,' he wrote.

'Food and drink free of charge so just go and speak to my manager Juan and we will sort you out and give you some love.'

Lily Allen also offered 'a bed or a lift or tea' to anyone who needed it, while EE said that anyone who needs to contact someone can come into one of its stores in the area.

The fire was reported at Grenfell Tower in Notting Hill shortly before 1am on June 14 and emergency services have confirmed that 12 people have died, and over 50 people have been treated in hospital for injuries sustained in the fire.

Other people thought to have been inside the building when the blaze began remain unaccounted for.

Emergency rest centres have been opened for evacuees at Portobello Rugby Club, Walmer Road, W11 4EY and at the Harrow Centre, Freston Road, W10 6TH.
