When it comes to Beyoncé, expect the unexpected.

We learned this lesson earlier this year when the 35-year-old announced she was pregnant with twins with the most epic photoshoot of all time.

However, with news Beyoncé has now given birth, rumoured to be a boy and girl, after a week of speculation regarding her due date, it looks like Queen B's mother Tina is now throwing another spanner in the works.

Last night, Tina posted an Instagram video of herself at a party in New York City, with the message: 'In New York for my friends son's wedding. God lets things happen in his time not ours! Dont try to rush him!'

With Tina choosing to attend her friend's son's wedding, rather than be close to her eldest daughter and her newborn babies, as well as the cryptic caption to her video, we're starting to wonder whether Beyoncé did give birth to her twins last week, and if the uproar of the twins' rumoured arrival was a smokescreen to distract us from their actual birth date.

This might explain why neither Tina or Solange were spotted near Beyoncé earlier last week.

However, Beyoncé's father, Matthew Knowles, confirmed the news of his grandchildren's birth on Twitter, as did a People source. 'Bey and Jay are thrilled and have started sharing the news with their family and closest friends,' they reported.

Then again, perhaps Matthew is in on the fake news too? It's all very confusing, but you can't exactly blame Beyoncé for wanting to keep her twins' birth a private affair, given the star's pregnancy woes in the past.

In 2013, the singer opened up about her experience of miscarriage in her documentary Life Is But A Dream, in which she admitted: 'About two years ago, I was pregnant for the first time. And I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life.'

However, weeks after falling pregnant, she learned the devastating news she had lost her baby. 'I flew back to New York to get my check up -- and no heartbeat. Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat,' she added.

Who knows what's happening but one thing's for sure: Beyoncé is 100 per cent in control here, and so she should be.
