Fancy 12 chicken nuggs, but can't quite be bothered to get off your hungover arse and down to the drive through? Yep, we've all been there. Today, however, will be a day to remember. A day for the history books. Today is the day McDonalds have finally answered your prayers.

Orders will be available from 22 locations across London and another 10 restaurants in Leeds and Nottingham.

This is only a small percentage of its more than 1,200 stores in the UK, but McDonald's said the scale would be a 'soft launch' to allow the restaurant teams 'to see what works and learn from what doesn't.'

Fancy a Big Mac at midnight? No problem. The new service would be available from 7am to 2am, meaning both late-night munchies and morning-after emergencies will be covered.

Home deliveries of ready-to-eat food is growing at an astonishing rate. Demand for takeaways rose 10 times faster than eating out last year, with 599 million orders placed by increasingly time-starved Brits.

This is the first time McDonalds have pushed delivery in the UK - they have resisted for 43 years (the entire time it's been here) yet offer takeaways in American and India.

Still, better late then never, eh?
