Even if you were without wifi or on a remote island in Fiji last August, you'll have no doubt learned of Orlando Bloom's now famous 'penis-gate' incident, when the actor was snapped in the buff by the paparazzi while paddle boarding off the coast of Sardinia with his then-girlfriend, singer Katy Perry.

Earlier this year, Bloom exclusively told ELLE UK he was shocked at being photographed in nothing but his birthday suit, explaining: 'I wouldn't have put myself in that position if I'd thought it would happen.'

'I've been photographed a million times in a million ways. I have a good radar,' he added. 'We'd been completely alone for five days. Nothing around us. There was no way anyone could get anything. So I had a moment of feeling free.'

However, Katy Perry now seems to be claiming that Bloom's explanation might not be exactly the truth.

Yesterday, the Roar singer opened up about the paddleboard saga on the Sydney morning show Kyle & Jackie O and, having first jokingly admitted she sought 'a lot of therapy about that moment', she revealed her ex-boyfriend was far more aware of how exposed he was to the public than he has previously let on.

'He asked me if I wanted to be [naked] and I was like, 'ah no…',' Katy admitted.

'He wanted to show off for the people on the shore. He thought it was funny! ... Oh oh, it was SO funny because I was explaining Twitter and social media to him for weeks because he had taken a break and then all of a sudden he was like trending number one on Twitter!' she added.

So, which is it Orlando – the fact you thought you thought you were enjoying a private moment with your then-girlfriend away from the media's prying eyes, or that you were fully aware of the fact you'd be seen and photographs of your nether regions would have the world swooning all summer long?

Your Honour, we want the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
