David Beckham Defends Decision To Kiss Daughter Harper On The Lips

The 42-year-old father slammed criticism of those who deem his decision to kiss his children on the lips as wrong.

You'll remember last month when David Beckham came under fire after sharing a photograph of himself kissing his five-year-old daughter, Harper, on the lips during a family holiday to Africa.

Well, now the father-of-four has spoken out about the criticism, defending his decision to shower his daughter with love and affection.

Taking part in a Facebook Live on his own official page during a recent trip to Bangkok, the former footballer revealed he kisses all of his children – except his eldest son Brooklyn – on the lips.

Surprised by the backlash he received following the post of Harper, David said: 'I kiss all my kids on the lips.'

'Brooklyn maybe not. Brooklyn is 18, so he might find that a little strange, but I'm very affectionate with the kids.

'It's how I was brought up - and Victoria - and it's how we are with our children,' he added.

The former England captain continued: 'We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them and support them.'

'Having children is the most special thing in the world,' he continued during his discussion of fatherhood.

The photo drama comes exactly one year after Victoria received negativity on Instagram after she posted a photograph of herself kissing Harper during time in a pool during a holiday, with some followers deeming the snap 'strange' and 'pervy'.

We for one couldn't be more supportive of David and Victoria showing affection to their children.
