We live for films about female friends who are as funny as they are chaotic. Be it Bridesmaids, Romy and Michele's High School Musical or Muriel's Wedding, tales of two women figuring out their friendship is a storyline we can all relate to.

26 year-old Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence and 36 year-old comedian Amy Schumer have been talking about their own girl-squad flick since 2015.

Yep, it's now two years that we've been waiting to see a film created in which, apparently, J-Law will be a hot mess and Amy will play a wannabe flight attendant.

Lawrence said to The Guardian of the union, 'I watched Trainwreck and I was like, "Yep, we're made for each other."'

She continued:

I reached out and everything just happened so quickly. We both have very similar senses of humour, obviously, and aren't afraid, which is a good and bad thing, because I don't know what our movie will be rated. And we're both very blunt. So we've gotten through a really strenuous process without ever fighting, because we're both very straightforward.

Judging by their on-screen chemistry at the Golden Globes and numerous Instagram posts that we've spotted, the pair appear to be firm friends and a fierce comedic duo.

In fact, here's a handy timeline of the pair's friendship if you're not convinced this is the greatest love story of our time.

Rumour has it that the pair will play sisters in the film, so when this cheeky IG made its way onto our feeds, we paid attention.

The snap pictures the funny blondes alongside actor Woody Harrelson with the caption 'sisters'.

Is it us or is Schumer dropping a big ole hint here?

Are they finally filming this thing?

Don't play with us Amy, we need this film.
