We're not sure whether Prince George was being a little bit naughty, or was overcome with a bout of shyness as he arrived in Poland for Prince William and Kate Middleton's official state visit this morning.

Perhaps it was a bit of both, but the uncertain three-year-old appeared to need some serious coaxing off the family's private airplane and a few words of encouragement from his father, Prince William, once he touched down on Polish soil.

In numerous snaps of Prince George disembarking the plane with his family, he can be spotted holding onto his father's hand and gazing at the photographers and dignitaries who awaited the family in Warsaw ahead of their European tour.

Prince William was also pictured gently disciplining George as he looked somewhat bored by the welcoming party, shuffling his feet on the red carpet and looking to his parents for support.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cambridge carried two-year-old Princess Charlotte, who appeared to be as good as gold.

The mother-of-two looked elegant in a white Alexander McQueen outfit, while William was formal in a navy suit with a red tie.

George wore a checked shirt and navy shorts, while Charlotte sported a red-patterned dress with matching white socks and red patent shoes.

Kensington Palace confirmed last month that Prince George and Princess Charlotte would be joining Kate and William's five-day official visit to Poland and Germany.

A Kensington Palace spokesperson on behalf of Kate and William announced: 'The Duke and Duchess are very much looking forward to this tour and are delighted with the exciting and varied programme that has been put together for it.

'They have decided that their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, will travel with them and we expect the children to be seen on at least a couple of occasions over the course of the week,' they added.

The state visit is part of the royal couple's unofficial duties as Brexit ambassadors, as they attempt to strengthen the UK's relations with Europe as it prepares to leave the EU, and comes a day after the pair were spotted congratulating tennis champion Roger Federer's win in the Men's Wimbledon Final.

Kate and William are due to meet meet young local entrepreneurs at a reception this evening, followed by a garden party held in honour of the Queen.

Give it a few hours and we're sure Prince George will be running riot, like usual.

And we wouldn't want him any other way.
