Now that Love Island has come to a depressing end and created a mid-week void in our social calendar, and the summer weather appears to have drifted away to sunnier shores, there's not much keeping our spirits up this week – other than googling images of Chris Hemsworth on a daily basis, of course.

Yes, we know he's an adorable father, supportive of female actresses likes Charlize Theron to become the next James Bond, and gifts future sister-in-law Miley Cyrus quirky pink sunglasses, but, you've got to admit, the guy is an Adonis.

And it's alright to appreciate and celebrate the beauty of life sometimes too, you know?

However, the 33-year-old actor has just revealed that the secret behind his rippling abs and rock-hard muscles might not be down to a healthy diet and hours in the gym, as he previously had us believing.

And you know, what Chris? We're a bit too emotionally unstable right now to deal with confusing jokes of this magnitude okay?

'The special effects get better,' he joked to E! at Comic-Con on Saturday. 'I'm about 400 pounds—you just can't tell.'

The world is already testing our patience enough right now, what with the state of international politics and the bee population being in decline and we're not sure we can deal with any more confusion to be honest Chris.

Fortunately, the Australian actor got serious and admitted his superhero body, and those of his Thor: Ragnarok castmates Idris Elba and Mark Ruffalo, actually all came as a result of working hard and cheering each other on in the gym.

'We had a nice gym on set, which we'd all inhabit quite often and get in and motivate each other.

'It's all a very supportive, loving cast on set,' he complimented his co-stars.

Okay, panic over.
