Which is probably why Reddit user JTDobson7's post - titled 'What is something you catch yourself accidentally doing that is generally annoying to other people?' - has resonated with far-flung corners of the Internet. The thread has racked up over 18,000 posts in under 24 hours with people scrambling to divulge their maddening customs.

From an out-of-control holiday habit to apologising for literally just existing, we're probably not even aware of what we're doing half the time. Until someone points it out, that is.
