Cast your mind back to 2001. Actress Jennifer Garner burst onto our television screens as double CIA agent Sydney Bristol in Alias, earning a Golden Globe and SAG Award as a result of her kick-ass moves, enthralling storyline, and leather e-v-e-r-y-thing.

Well, it seems the mother-of-three is returning to her fighting days. According to Deadline, she is currently in talks to star in high-action revenge thriller Peppermint.

Garner's character will pack no punches, with the film description reading:

'When her husband and daughter are gunned down in a drive-by, the heroine wakes up from a coma and spends years learning to become a lethal killing machine. On the 10th anniversary of her family's death, she targets everyone she holds responsible, the gang that committed the act, the lawyers that got them off, and the corrupt cops that enabled the murderous incidents.

Following the success of Wonder Woman, which recently beat Deadpool in the box office, we can't wait to see yet another woman take to the screens.

And, from the sounds of it, Garner – who announced her split from husband Ben Affleck in 2015 – is just as excited to return to her fighting days as we are.

'Do I think there will be a return to the action? I hope so!' Garner told E! News in 2012.

'Yes! I was just working out with my trainer this morning, and she's trained me for 12 years and she was like, "I think it's time. I think we need to put some pleather on",' she added.

I mean, who can say no to a little bit of pleather?
