Without warning, early on Friday morning, global superstar (and former ELLE cover star) Miley Cyrus gifted the world another example of what it's like when she swaps the pop synths for her country roots.

The singer has shared the title track from her forthcoming Younger Now album, and released an accompanying music video.

Co-directed by Diane Martel and Cyrus herself, it sees the singer riding a Gravitron-like amusement park attraction, dancing at a '50s-inspired sock ho and paying tribute to Elvis by a) dressing up like him and b) recreating the famous puppet show from his 'Wooden Heart' video.

Miley sings about rediscovering herself and and that even though she acknowledges she previously wasn't herself, she's 'not afraid of who I used to be.'

The idea for the song came from one particularly open conversation.

'I just think for girls to celebrate being young right now would be a great thing,' Cyrus told Billboard in May about the title of her album, adding that she had a light bulb moment during a conversation with her mother, Tish Cyrus.

'She was like, 'I swear to God, you are younger now at 24 than you were at 4!' And so it just hit me, like I am f—ing younger now, and I am proud of that,' she continued.

The follow-up to Bangerz and Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz is out September 29. It will also include previously released songs 'Inspired' and 'Malibu'.

Not only did Miley share the song and music video, she also announced the entire Younger Nowtracklist:

01 Younger Now 02 Malibu 03 Rainbowland [feat. Dolly Parton] 04 Week Without You 05 Miss You so Much 06 I Would Die for You 07 Thinkin' 08 Bad Mood 09 Love Someone 10 She's Not Him 11 Inspired

Yep, that's a track with Queen Parton. Roll on September.
