We knew it was coming. Not only because Taylor Swift tends to release new music, every couple of years, towards the end of August. But, well, the singer made it pretty darn clear something was up when she deleted every single post off her social media accounts over the weekend.

Then, a mere three days later, she tweeted and Instagrammed a creepy video of a slowly flicking snake-like tail (a meta acknowledgement, it seems, of the snake emojis that flooded her Instagram post-Kimye Snapchatgate.)

Fans quickly found a '2' and a '5' hidden in the snake's skin, leading them to believe that new music will be dropped this Friday, August 25th.

But then the pop star used her social media channels to unveil her forthcoming album, titled Reputation, to be released on 10 November.

She also announced the then-unnamed lead single.

And it's finally here guys: Welcome 'Look What You Made Me Do'.

Unsurprisingly, the Swift army have reacted with as much shock as we have at the singer's moody new track.

It's a mixed bag to say the least, right?

After winning her sexual assault and battery counter-suit against former radio host David Mueller, and then donating an undisclosed but 'generous' amount of money to the Joyful Heart Foundation, she's had a tumultuous but ultimately very positive couple of months.

Welcome back, Tay!
