We can all agree the best thing to have come out of 2016's hit anti-superhero blockbuster Suicide Squad was the screen-stealing performances from Jared Leto and Margot Robbie.

Okay, Robbie's real-life BBF relationship with co-star Cara Delevingne was pretty cool too, but that's beside the point.

Repising their roles as the Joker and Harley Quinn, the Hollywood stars are reported to be reuniting for an untitled film project centred on their two characters from Suicide Squad.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, directors and executive producers of the hit NBC drama This Is Us who are also the masterminds behind the 2011 film Crazy, Stupid, Love are penning the new film.

The film is described as a 'criminal love story', according to one source, featuring the two murdering, Batman hating maniacs.

One source claims the film will be 'an insane and twisted love story. When Harry Met Sally on benzedrine'.

While Warners is reportedly fast-tracking the development of a Suicide Squad sequel, it's thought that - following the success of Wonder Woman - the company is pushing for a Joker/Harley Quinn film just as fast.
