Last night, Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence stunned at the UK premiere of her upcoming thriller, Mother!, directed by her boyfriend Darren Aronofsky, wearing a sheer, silver Atelier Versace gown.

And while we can't get over how beautiful the A-lister looked on the red carpet, we're more interested in what she had to say about the crippling financial parity between men and women in the film industry.

Discussing the gender pay gap in Hollywood, the 27-year-old told the BBC that she think there is still 'a lot of unfairness'.

'We are making changes, the gap is very slowly closing. But there's still work to be done,' she admitted.

When asked whether she made sure she was getting paid the same wage as her Mother! co-star Javier Bardem, Lawrence admitted she 'didn't look at what Javier was getting'.

'I just knew what I deserved and I fought for that,' she replied.

The actress was then questioned over would happen if she found out that the actor had been paid more, to which she replied: 'There would've been a phone call.'

Damn right, there'd be a phone call Jennifer.

Especially given the fact the top 10 highest-paid actors and actresses in Hollywood are men.

Discussing her new thriller film, she said 'it's not enjoyable when you're watching it. It's hard to watch, it's an assault'.

This week, the Guardian rewarded the film five stars calling its plot a 'very bad dream of very bad things'.

'As horror it is ridiculous, as comedy it is startling and hilarious, and as a machine for freaking you out it is a thing of wonder,' the review concluded.

See you at the cinema?
