The actress spoke out about gender inequality in the world of entertainment

Not satisfied with conquering Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra made the move in 2015 to take hold of Hollywood too.

Again, she wasn't satisfied with simply being in front of the camera, so began producing too (yeah, and she's beautiful, charitable, talented, etc etc).

On Friday she screened her film Pahuna: The Little Visitors, at the Toronto International Film Festival .

The 35 year-old produced the film alongside her mother Madhu Chopra and the pair walked the red carpet together.

She used her time on the carpet to talk about issues close to her heart - namely, gender equality.

Despite her own successes, Chopra is keenly aware of the lack of opportunities for women in Hollywood, she explained to Entertainment Tonight:

Well first of all, just to take a step back, women had had to choose what they wanna make because parts are not written in Hollywood or entertainment. We're so far behind, I mean we just had Wonder Woman, which is our first big major female superhero movie directed by a female. We've just had one director that's ever won an Academy Award who is female ever in the history of entertainment. I mean, come on!

In fact, Chopra is determined to use her own success to kick the door open for other women hoping to act, direct, write and more:

I'm digging my feet in and not gonna settle ever. Because it's gonna take people like me, like a lot of other women out there, to make it easier for the next generation where they don't have to feel like, 'Oh, there are not parts written for us. We always have to stand behind the guy.' [We have to] create parts for ourselves because nobody else is gonna do it.

Chopra, technically the world's second most beautiful woman (after Beyoncé, obviously), has been vocal about not wanting to play second fiddle to a man, she would rather be Ms. Bond than a Bond girl and will totally be your next Bat(wo)man.

So when her close mate and fellow actress and activist Meghan Markle had a huge Vanity Fair cover story, Chopra had something to say about it:

I don't know if I will get into trouble for this, but I have an opinion. I mean, she's on the cover of Vanity Fair. It would have been nice to write about her not just her boyfriend. I'm just saying. I mean, she's an actor, she's an activist, she's a philanthropist. I mean, she does so much more.

The cover story focussed on Markle's relationship with Prince Harry, though in the article Markle herself comments, 'I've never defined myself by my relationship.'

Chopra continued:

It's just a little sexist. Look, I'm a feminist and I love boys, okay… The only thing I'm saying is that there needs to be a certain sense of equality where a woman is not just a plus one, you know. It's nice to be your own identity too.

We love how outspoken Chopra is, though, hopefully she won't get in too much trouble for those comments.
