Here in old Blighty the idea of the earth shuddering is a frightening one. Perhaps it's because we're very unlikely to experience said shuddering. Yet, looking at the news, this is clearly for good reason - the second earthquake in Mexico has resulted in the deaths of over 200 people in the last month.

However, not all Earthquakes are created equal, and the state of California experiences almost daily tremors, most of which are too small for people to even feel.

For those who grew up in the sunshine state, these mini-quakes are nothing new, though four large quakes have occurred in the last century.

So while the L.A. locals may be slightly laissez-faire when it comes to tectonic plates shifting beneath their feet, we're more inclined to side Chrissy Teigen. That, you know, things are moving erratically below? Look alive, people!

The quake, which happened last night, woke up the model and put her in a Twitter flurry.

The ground grumble threw her off (metaphorically) so much she sent out 20-odd emails telling the world she'd quit her job, despite not exactly knowing what her job is.

She also gave her husband the polite heads up that, you know, she's alive.

In our humble opinion, this seems like the appropriate response to the ground moving spontaneously.

And hey, John, pick up the blimmin' phone.
